Hi all - not sure where to get advice from, so hoping some people here can offer some

I was on the pill for about 5 years, then about 4 years on depo followed by a final 6 months on the pill before coming off it. About 6 months ago I made the decision to stop birth control pills / depo shots after suffering for a while with low/no sex drive and, on searching around the net, finding numerous other things which may also have been side effects of the pill.

However - I'm not feeling any improvement in my sex drive and don't know whether/when to expect it to return - does anyone have any experience to share please?

I told my story iat length n another thread last year. I'll give you the Reader's Digest version. I was on anti-depressants and The Pill. I had a mercurial sex drive, slight to non-existent. It came back briefly after going off The Pill. I still had the anti-depressant to contend with. Eventually, I found a psychiarist who listened to my complaints and got on anti-depressants that had low or no sexual side effects. There aren't ver many of those. It took a little while but eventually I got my groove back and then some.

Thanks - I'll see if I can find your other thread and give it a read over the weekend. I can sympathise with the lack of understanding too - I went to the doctors and they didn't seem to want to listen to what I was saying, just ready and willing to ship me off to couple's counselling. I live in a different area with a new doctor now, so maybe I should try again.

I should've maybe added that I'm not on anti-depressants (as I've read those can have similar effects) or other medication...

If anyone knows of any detox or similar which helps then I'd be glad to hear, or maybe I just have to wait it out?
