Coming off birth control after 10 yrs - MAJOR side effects!
Hello All! I am desperate for help!!! I have been on birth control for a little over 10 yrs ...I recently came off of birth control last July, so almost a year now ...and my periods have now been consistant! **yayy** however, I have noticed that I am getting a lot more achne, and having a lot more "PMS" symptoms, when it is around that time of the month! Not only have the mood swings and achne been bothering me, but I have gained about 20lbs since coming off of the pill! This is outrageous!!!!!! I am only 27 yrs old, and plan on having children within the next year or 2. Also, I am a petite person, about 4 ft. 11inches and my weight has always been between 120-135 the MOST! I am not about 155! This has NEVER happened to me before. I must also add that before I came off the of the pill, my full time job was waitressing. I worked everyday and ran around all day ...since then, I have another full time job in an office and still keep waitressing about 3 times a week. I work out for about 30min every morning andmy eating patterns have changed drastically. My eating pattens have improved since being in this new position and I am eating the healthiest possible foods, than I ever have in my entire life! Meals are all on a time schedule, I eat about 4-5 different fruits A DAY and drink at least a gallon of water a day, OR MORE! 2 cups of green tea a day, and taking raspberry ketone pills (for the past 2 months which I have noticed a reduction in my waist line) ...but if anything, I am gaining weight and feel as though I am becomming even more bloated!!! None of my clothes fit anymore and I am desperate for a change! As stated, I work out religiously every morning, tons of sit ups, squats and leg work. Also run for about 30min a day ...and on the move even more when working at the restaurant! I will be going in a tip in a month and my birthday will be at the same time and desperate to lose this weight!!! I've tried diets, pills, working out more but seem to gain more muscle then losing weight. My skin has improved due to the extreme amounts of water I drink on a daily basis (no soda) but the weight is NOT coming off! I have read that most women lose weight after coming off the of the pill - but in my case, I am the opposite, which I have read as well. I was so desperate I even went to the doctor and they ran blood test to see if I had any inbalances, and I am perfectly fine! They even suggested a diet plan, which I have followed and they cannot seem to figure out why I am gaining weight but only can assume it is due to the pills ...I was on them for so long, that my body is still trying to get back to "normal". I am in need of help! I really want to lose 10lbs at least before this trip ...I am desperate! PLEASE HELPPPPP -
hi, im having same issue! was on qlaira for a couple of years, and stopped in septemeber. and have been constantly gaining a kg for every month ive been off it. havent seen anyone to be able to give a real solution to the problem. all doctors just say wait till your body goes back to its levels! what do we do till then though? -
Hi Irini,
I have no clue! I have been stepping up my gym routine this week and also eating SUPER healthy (going on a trip in 2 weeks and something needs to change). I purchased my first body wrap yesterday and seen a small improvement.
I've talked to a few people and some say it can even take a year or more for your body to get back to "normal". Our hormones are all over the place!!
