    Birth Control Fail?

I am a 17 year old and I am considered to be good and innocent, and I am, but one night my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex (it was my first time) and the next day I took the morning after pill. (5th of July). On the 9th I got a period so I thought I was fine, but it wasn't when I should have gotten it and on the MAP box it says that it isn't really considered a period, just the flushing out of everything, anyway now it is the 1st of August and I haven't had my properly timed period and I've been moody and been more tired than usual and have been eating more, but I think that could also be because I'm getting my period (if I count from when I got it after I took the MAP) but it could also be that I'm pregnant.. I don't want to take a pregnancy test yet because I don't have that money on me and I can't ask my parents, but I also cant stand not knowing, I'm freaking out! Please help me, all these dates are confusing me and I don't know when to do the countdown for my period because the MAP may have messed it up.

Morning after pills messes up your system. Don't expect things to go bad to normal this month.

The MAP pill will mess up your cycle. But also stress can delay your period.

As for the money issue, If you live in the states Walmart carries an $0.88 pregnancy test. It's obviously not the best quality but it could at least ease your mind.

I'll echo what the others said. Stop freaking out, you're fine. The morning after pill is known to wreak havoc on the hormones and will mess up at least one cycle, of not 2. Users report lots of cramping, tender breasts, fatigue, moodiness, etc.

I don't think you're pregnant. But if it will ease your mind, you can get a preg test at a Dollar Store for next to nothing. You don't have to buy an HPT that costs an arm and a leg. If it will ease your mind, it's worth a few bucks.

The Scariest thing here is The (Hopefully Lesson Learned ).

If you cannot tell or ask your Parents, then it is something you know they would be against.
Once you are 18 or Legal age, there should be No Shame in going to a Parent and asking for Advise.

When you know you are ( Betraying their Trust and Rules ) is when you have to Sneak and Lie and go behind their backs .. The ones who have Raised you, Supported you, tried their best to keep you Healthy. Fed you, Clothed you and kept a Roof over your Head.
And when or if you do get Pregnant or have a STD,while Under Age, They are the ones who Will Find out and Have to pay for it ..

It's not a New thing these days, anymore ..
It's called " Cheating on your Parents ".
Not much different than finding your BF/ GF is Cheating on you . Which is usually extremely painful , Emotionally. The person you Love and Trust, Breaks that Trust.

The difference is Parents Forgive... Easier that you will ever Forgive your BF/ GF if they Snuck around or Lied to you .

You are Considered " Good and Innocent " . MAP and all other things Considered. You can determine that to be truth, from now on .. But Innocent , if you mean Virgin, is not an Option anymore, sad to say .

Once you are 18 or (Legal Age) is when you can make and be Responsible for Decisions that will and Can Transform your life into Adulthood and Responsibility for your own actions >>>~>

Honey, I'm not nagging you Personally Per-say . But I am explaining .. That a Cheating and Lying Child is not much Different than a Cheating Lying Spouse and or Significant Other .

I know it messes with your system, but for how long? I will try and get a pregnancy test next week, and I'll hope for the best I guess. Also, people say that the MAP made them feel nauseas and hectically bad, but I had none of that really that I can remember, just a little cramping when I got the forced period, I'm just scared it didn't work or it that it was a dud out of the rest.

I guess it's a catch 22 situation.. No period leads to stress, and stress leads to no period.

I know what it's like to feel worried about unwanted pregnancy. Go get a cheap test and ease your mind. You're experiencing negative side effects of the MAP. You will feel much better once you see that negative sign. Perhaps your boyfriend could chip in and help you get the preg test.

Every women reacts differently and each time they use it. Just because you didn't get the symptoms, doesn't mean it doesn't work. The fact that you got the "period" means that most likely it worked. Anything is possible but right now it doesn't sound like anything is wrong. If you can't afford a pregnancy test, can you get one at your school's health clinic. Also, planned parenthood offers them too.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and although I live in a good area I do not know of a Planned Parenthood here, and I do not drive yet so getting places is tricky. But I will have to wait and see I guess, and after another week I'll speak to my boyfriend about my concerns and we'll make a plan.
