    The Nuvaring

I have been off Birth Control altogether for going on 2 years now. The pills were making me extremely dizzy and nauseated all of the time and I was getting migraines so I finally cut myself off of them. I've decided to go back on a form of birth control and have decided to try the NuvaRing. My older sister recommended it to me when I was originally dealing with the problems of being on the pill itself. I told the doctor I was seen by about my previous issues and she said the shot wouldn't be a good option for me nor would any other pills if they were making me sick. I am also worried about gaining more weight. When I originally started taking the pills in January of 2009 I weighed 170 pounds. I, unfortunately, weigh 210 now. All of that weight was put on while I was on the pills themselves and haven't been able to loose it since. I'm also worried about inserting and removing when need be, I'm not sure if I can do it correctly. Everyone says it's as easy as inserting tampons but I don't use tampons, never have been able to. Everything is just making me not want to even bother with it again but I'm tired of always fearing the worst. Am I just worrying for no reason? What are others experiences with the NuvaRing if any? Thanks

Okay so I've had the ring in for exactly one week but here is my newest problem, sex hurts regardless of how wet I am. Did/does anyone else have this problem?

You can take the ring out for sex. The instructions with it say how long it can be out.

I just found it too big so a large chunk stuck out and while the company says it's still working it was irritating. I'm on seasonique now so only 3 periods a year and they are barely noticeable.

We tried again the other day and it wasn't as bad. Decided I'll see how I like it after it's cycle has run it's course since as of today I'm on week 2.
