    Vaginal dryness w/Mirena?

I'm 40 years old and approximately 3 months ago I had a Mirena IUD inserted. I had no problems with insertion other than a little cramping. I like the convience and comfort of the IUD but I have noticed that I don't seem to get as wet as I used to prior to having the Mirena. Has anyone else experienced this?? I'm concerned because my lover and I have always enjoyed how wet I get. Now I don't know if my "concern" over this loss of moisture is what's bothering me, or if it's actually a side effect of the low level hormone the IUD gives off.

I had no sex drive when I had Mirena. When I tried I couldnt get wet either, it made for some painful sex.

I ended up having mine removed because I encountered the same problem. The change I felt was so drastic. I couldnt get used to not being as wet as I once was during sex. My gynocologist said that sometime the hormones in Mirena could have that effect. I'm back to normal now that I had it removed.

I'm 27, and I had a Mirena IUD inserted three months ago. I found the procedure to be extremely painful, the cramping lasted for about 5 days. Then, for the first two months I was spotting constantly. I would bleed for 3 days, stop for a few, bleed again, and so on and so forth. The bleeding stopped a month ago, and I recently had a very light period, which was nice. But the vaginal dryness I have experienced has been a big problem. I have never had a problem being wet during sex, but now, I cannot get wet any time, any way what so ever. No lubricants seem to help, as I am so completely dry that this requires me to have to stop in the middle of sex several times to re-apply the lubricant. After reading some similar posts, I have decided to take mine out, and I'm thinking about the copper IUD that doesn't have hormones. Does anyone know if there are similar complaints from that IUD as well?
