So I have been on the pill for over four years. Long story short I was having symptoms of endometriosis and my doctor changed my pills and I ended up being allergic to this new kind and had to stop taking the pill. I immediately got my period like two days after stopping my birth control. I usually start my periods on Wednesdays, and the following month I started my period only a day late. However this month I am now almost 4 days late. I am sexually active with my boyfriend but we use condoms every single time and he always pulls out anyway. A few days ago I started breaking out and having sore breasts like I always do before my period, but not really any cramping and no period. Is this just because I recently stopped birth control or could I possibly be pregnant?

Does stoppage of birth control mess with your period?
Hello!

It took more than a year for me to have normal periods after being on yasmin for years. Pretty much anything can happen after you stop bcp. The body has to learn to function again. It can take awhile to recover a steady cycle without weird effects. Of course any birth control can fail so you can never rule out pregnancy when things are messed up. That's why I had bulk pregnancy and ovulation tests (only $.10 each that way) for times I was off bcp. -
Well Ashlee sounds more like your bodies is readjusted to not being on the pill. But I do not think you are pregnant at this time but your body will take time to readjust to not being on the pill. Women bodies all do different things going through PMS each month. But it's good you are being responsible with boy friend.Hello!

Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.Comment

Thanks everyone! Yeah I'm really hoping it's just my period that's messed up, because my boyfriend and I have been so careful. I just wasn't sure how messed up my cycle would be, because my first month off of it I had only started a day later than usual. It's just really nerve wracking because being on the pill for 4+ years, I'm used to my period always coming on time and at a specific time, so now that's is late I'm like freaking out even though I'm trying not to because I know stress can mess with it as well.Comment
