26 yo female. One 5 yo child.

In a monogamous relationship. We had unprotected sex and he went inside. I am on week three of Loloestrin 24 fe and the day after we had sex, I missed two pills in a row. Life got busy and I am a little worried. Can not taking pills on the third week two days consecutively after unprotected sex put me at risk for pregnancy. Its been four days and I'm experiencing cramps and achiness. My breasts are also tender.
I don't normally get these things. A little concerned. What should I do? I'm embarassed and feeling quite foolish for forgetting... Help?

Well Ootankgirloo first of all do you want another baby that's what you have to answer for your self. But if not have you thought about the morning after pill or plain B. Then you need to get a pregnancy test and see if your pregnant then the works begins all over again.

Why? Is this something I should be very concerned about? I'm only now reading on other forums that its very important to not skip first and third weeks of a pill pack.

I've been emotionally on edge the past couple of days after along with the other symptoms I've been having, but I wouldn't have pregnancy symptoms that early on right? Way too soon.

Well you can take the the morning after pill or plain B five days or 120 hours after unprotected sex. That's why the pill packs suck my 4 daughters do the norco shot last for 3 months instead of the pill you just don't have those issue everyday talking a pill that you can forget.

ootankgirloo, I don't know much about Loloestrin or hormonal BC as I'm not on it, but I'd suggest you just wait and see if you get your period. If it doesn't come, take a pregnancy test about a week after it should have.

Our bodies do all kinds of silly stuff based on all kinds of things like stress, etc., so you're not automatically pregnant. Try to relax and let it all be what it'll be.

If it's your first pill pack I would be concerned. If you are 3months or more in to them then it's probably fine. They aren't as effective the first month or 2. The symptoms could just be the fact you missed pills. You basically have withdrawal from the hormones in the pills which can cause all sorts of symptoms. That's what causes your period on pills. It is not your body saying it's time for one. It's just withdrawal symptoms from the hormones not being there. Screw up when you don't take the pills and anything can happen.

If you skip two pills in a row you are supposed to use barrier contraception for 7 days. So presumably for those 7 days you could conceive....if you had unprotected sex the day before, those sperm can survive about a week too inside you. Take a test if you don't have a period but those symptoms can also be caused by hormone Changes due to skipped pills.
