I am 17 and have just been put on Trinessa to accompany my Accutane and prevent the whole weird-headed baby thing.
The problem is that my pharmacist (who is going to because of this) simply forgot to give me the patient information booklet/sheet/whatever/thing that tells you WHEN to start taking the pills, etc. Thus, I started with a little white Tuesday pill and kept taking them everyday at 9 PM until one day I suddenly realized, "Hey! I've been on my period for 15 days straight!" (I now realize, thanks to research, that there is a specific time of the month to take these pills. by the time i realized this, it was...well...wayyy too late)
By 15-day-period, I do not mean that I have been browning or spotting or anything like that. I mean I have been on a steady, elongated monster-edit er-period that started light, got heavier, got a lot heavier, and then slowly went back to light again. Luckily, I appear to be almost done with it.
Which leaves me with a question: What now? Should I start over with the pills and do them RIGHT this time? Should I keep going? Should I wait until my cycle gets normal again before retaking the pills? Should I run down to Walgreens Pharmacy right now with an AK-47 and start shooting people?
Please help. And don't laugh at me. I'm serious, folks. My little brother already wrote a song about my incredibly lengthy period that he oh-so-aptly titled, "It Sucks to be You." (<--it's quite catchy, actually) I am now PAINFULLY aware of the dangers of not researching the medications I take BEFORE I do something edit with them.
