    Brith control problems????

Hello. My name is Brandi and have been married for 4 1/2 years now to a wonderful man. We do have 2 young boys (ages 8 months and almost 2). I have recently went back on the pill (ortho cyclen) and have found that my libido has went way down to the point where I am not interested really along with several other issues. I am not sure what to do. Can anyone give me some advice? My husband and I have fought about the sex issue twice and frankly I don't like arguing.

    Thanks,

    Brandi

hey brandikins2, well i can sympathize with you because i had the very same problem. i didn't realize it untill i got off my birth control. because about a month after i stopped the birth control my labido shot through the roof. i was like wow i didn't realize my sexual drive was so low when i was on the birth control. you could very well talk to your gyno about other birth control options for you and tell your doc about the labido issue. i have tried almost every kind of birth control out there and what i found that worked best for me was the copper iud not the mirena type because it contains no hormones and it lasted for a long time(10 years) also since your in a monogomous relationship it is a good option. i know there is alot of cotroversy surrounding iud's. but it is just a simple suggestion. it worked out well for me. it does hurt a bit going in but removing it was a breeze. well i hope you get some closure on this.......

Thanks Lynne for your reply. I have also been on the depo shot and several different types of bcps. Before I got pregnant with my first son, I was on ortho cyclen and I had the same bcps after I had him and didn't have this problem. I was thinking about the IUD but after reviewing the pros and cons of it with my doctor, I have choosen not to do that. I am really in a pickle here.

well the only other non hormonal option you may have would be a diaphragm. i used one of those for a bit but it wasn't for me. well i hope you get it all figured out.
