    Yaz problems

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I have a question. I am 27 and have 3 kids ages 7, 4, and 2. I have been on yaz for almost 5 months. I've tried many other pills, and they turn me into a super witch and my sex drive goes to zero. Same goes for yaz. But last week, right after I started a new pack, I got these leg pains that were so bad I couldn't sleep. I have spider viens on my upper thighs and now they feel like they're bruised. I can't even brush against them without pain. Also, my mood swings have gotten worse! Instead of pms, I have all month ms! Let me also say that I am on a low dose of synthroid for a sluggish thyroid. Do you think the yaz is making my legs hurt?

    Problems with Yaz

I was on lo estrin , and had legs cramps and pain. Any of the pills can cause this. I am on Yaz now, but will be changing on Sunday when I start new pack. I found that i was more moody , very tired and no drive at all on this pill. I went on it because i was feeling depression/anxiety and i thought it would help, depression is gone ( more so from therapy) and the anxiety is still there. Therapist doesn't really believe it works, as i said i became a real crab all month rather than just the week before and week of monthly. Talk to the doctor, not a good sign to be in pain. I had a blood clot test done , and it was ok . Good luck

Hey, I was on Yaz for about a year. I never had any leg problems but read up on it before taking it and heard that others had had problems with that. It probably is the Yaz, I would let your doctor know. It's one of those weird side effects that just doesn't make sense.

            I quit yaz...

So yesterday I was at Walmart with my two girls in the shopping cart. As I was standing at the check out line, looking at a Britney Spears magazine cover, the room started spinning and my knees buckled. If I had not been holding on to the cart, I would have hit the floor. My heart was going so fast and I thought I was going to throw up. But then it was over just as quick as it came. I got home and called my doctor, and he said that is almost like a panic attack. My anxiety levels are through the roof right now. I never had problems like this before the pill. My dr. said to stop taking it, and to come in to discuss other options. I don't know what to do. I dont want a tubal yet becaues we might want another kid in a few years. But if it happened right now, we'd be up the creek. I think my husband is just gonna have to go back to the old stand by---condoms. Maybe I'm just one of those people who are very sensitive to anything hormonal. So I quit yaz as of yesterday, and hopefully I will come down off this rollercoaster it put me on.

Hello, I am also new to this forum but I checked it out because I am having some strange symptoms and have been on Yaz now for several months. I have noticed off and on lower leg pain, slightly decreased libido, increased pain when my husband and I have sex, and lately increased anxiety (I have had two episodes like you describe within the past week). I am concerned too that my blood pressure is measuring higher than usual when I have a doctor's visit. I just got married 4 months ago and I have decided to go off the pill all together and probably use a combination of lamb skin condoms and the "rhythm method" once I have a better idea when my natural cycle returns. It's convenient being on the pill but I just don't think it's worth the symptoms. Good luck to you! If you come back to this forum, I'd love to know how you feel after a while of coming off of Yaz.

Keep us posted on how you feel since stopping. I myself stopped and started a new pill Sunday. What you described was defiantly a panic attack. Good luck to you, i hope that it was just the pill.

                  no more BC

                  Hi all,
Well, I have been off the yaz for about a month. The first week I had nothing but massive headaches. My leg cramps have gone away. I have not had any other panic attacks. I also have not got my period yet, its due in a week or so, but all month my breasts have been so sore and even a bit swollen. I dont know what thats all about. (I do know that Im not pregnant) How long does it take after getting off bc before your body adjusts back to normal? I went to my dr to talk about a new form of bc, and he suggested Nuva Ring. I dont know about that, cause i heard that it can cause the leg cramps and blood clots too. Has anyone used Nuva Ring? I just dont want to get pregnant right now. Next year we may try for another one, but if it happened now, things would be a bit nuts. Not sure what to try next.......

                    another Yaz problem

Yaz lowered my libido, but it also affected my exercise routine. I found after a month on Yaz I was much more quickly short of breath while running. This persisted and got worse, so after about 3 or 4 months, I got off Yaz and a month later I was fine, back to normal. Doctor said the higher potassium may have lead to this, but we didn't bother doing a blood test. Those who exercise may have this problem.
