I know that smoking tobacco is not good while taking birth control but will smoking marijuana cause the pill to be less effective? I also know that any smoke in combo. with the pill leads to greater risk of cardiovascular disease, but my question is only about the effectiveness of the pill. thanks!

I've smoked since i was 14, pill from 17 and i'm a very very very very young, 45 still smoke, still take the pill and um not answering if i ever did that bit that you mention.

I think you will find that smoking, is smoking what ever it is you smoke pertaining to whether it can effect your health or the pill and if you posed that question to your doctor it is my "opinion" that would be her answer.

Understandably you don't want to ask him/her that.

In-avertedly i answered based on experience, not facts.. For that answer, sorry you will have to speak to a Doctor.
