Full effects in the first three months

    Hi Holly,
I went on Yaz for PMDD about a year and a half ago. In my case, I got nearly perfect control of my moods in the first month. That it is atypical though. My Doctor told me when prescribing it that it might take up to three months for me to feel the full effect. It probably just depends a lot on the person.
    Good luck with it though!

They usually say to give birth control pills 3 months to reach full effectiveness or for side effects to appear/disappear even when not treating something like that. You can't really judge the first month by how the rest will go.

The first month I took Yaz I spotted a bit, but I could tell within the first pack that it was good. I tried Ortho Lo for the good three months but it was awful for me.

After the second month I no longer spotted and the third month went smoothly. I felt so much better after the first pack that I was totally addicted. My personalty changed for the better, I was more confident, less moody (did not cry at the drop of the hat), and of course less periods. (Which actually isn't a real period, but a withdrawal bleed.) I've been on this pill for over a year, and I've seen definite improvements with acne, skin and I think it's helping me loose some weight as well because of the dierutic.

Yea, that's the only side effect that I have seen so far, it makes me have to go pee a lot. (That's the drosperinone in it.)

My body can't handle the higher doses even though I'm overweight, it makes me feel all weird. Ortho Lo made me feel apathetic and worthless, my moods and such all led to depression because I didn't feel right.

I know the original posting of this was older but it caught my attention. Honestly, as much as Bayer has advertised Yaz as helping PMDD, the FDA actually sent them a warning letter about exaggerating the relief of symptoms. The article is *Removed outbound link*. Just be careful with it!
