I've had problems with upper lip hair for a long time, and the best remedy I've discovered is the Epicare spring. It's so AMAZING. I don't know what I'd do without it. It's certaintly a bit painful, but then again, beauty isn't without its pain, am I right?

I have the same problem. I have upper lip hair, chin hair, hair on the side of my face, hair on my feet, and a little line of hair from my belly button to my pubic area. I normally use tweezers to remove the upper lip and chin hair and I of course also use the tweezers on my eye brows. Sometimes I get those areas waxed. When it comes to the feet, side of face, and belly button line I normally use a razor. You should NEVER shave the facial hair. I would suggest that waxing is best because the more you do it the less likely it is to grow back. I also have thinning hair on my head and I am only 26. I have seen several doctors when I was younger, but they couldn't tell what was wrong. They think its my thyroid, but the tests are negative. I have used Rogain and other similer products, but they don't work. I have always had normal monthly periods and pap smears. Could it possible that I have that polycistic ovary thing? HELP with the thinning hair.

I literally have hair all over my body, even my nose and earlobes! It is very embarrassing. I've noticed it two years ago... for a good year and a half I have been shaving it, but recently I switched to a machine called an epilator... It gets rid of the hair considering it is tweezing at a very fast pace, but it doesnt get all the hair and is painful even if I have a high pain tolerance. It does not make my hair grow back as fast as shaving nor darker.. but it provides no help in the permanent factor.. I am looking towards laser hair removal but I heard their "permanent" is a year of being hair free...

Ladies, just to chime in here for a minute, a little excess hair is quite normal, a stray dark hair here and there that you have to pluck. But when you get to the point that you need to shave your face or chest or back, and are losing hair on your head it is most likely a hormonal issue. Could be PCOS, could be a thyroid issue. Either way, proper treatment can really help. The epi's and all are great to help maintain, but if you don't get proper treatment the problem isn't going to go away. It's a very difficult thing to deal with. I encourage all of you to get your hormone levels checked and talk to your doctor about what's going on with you. Best wishes.

I have the same problem, for 12/13 years ive been plucking my facial hairs, i also have hair on my stomache, toes. I can live with it here, or thought i know i'll never be able to wear a bikini! accoding to the doctors im showing signs of pco - hair growth being one. I also have thinning hair on my crown area which has been like this for a couple of years, and generally all over where my hair i snapping off, or though the doctor doesnt think they are connected in anyway. Im not so sure, i have been told to take some tablets to encourage my hair growth on my head, but is this going to make it grow in other areas?!! apparently not!!

Plucking hairs on my chin, has caused scarring :'( and red bumps, where ingrown hairs appear, and when i do manage to get them out, they are huge! i do feel very concious of this, and HATE catching myself in the mirror knowing that i have to face other people with this horrible problem.

I remember getting upset years ago about this, and to think back it was nothing then compared to now!! I used to love going out, parties, weddings etc, its seriously effecting me, more so then what outfit im going to wear! This is not normal! I'm even worrying about when I have a baby, how ive got to stay in hospital and not even be able to pluck or anything, and people seeing me hairy! I'd give anything for a smooth hairless chin, i really would.

I posted this in another thread before I found this one- and I'm not able to delete it for some reason! But I hope I can post this here too..

It's really good to know I'm not alone in this- but it doesn't make me feel any better about myself, unfortunately
I'm 17 and I have this problem.. it's mostly dark blonde hairs on my cheeks, chin, neck, and darker hairs on my upper lip which I wax. I also have fine hair on my forehead.
I've had blood tests, and nothing to show for this. My dermatologist has said she didn't even notice it and it wasn't dark enough to be lasered, and most likely due to my ethnicity. But a few people at school have pointed it out so it's obviously pretty bad.
It's really killing my self confidence because as I wear a fair bit of makeup, it's hard for me to wax because the makeup doesn't go on properly and you can tell where it's been waxed and where it hasn't. Also I find I try very hard to stay in the shade all the time when I'm talking to people because the sunlight makes it really noticeable.
I don't know what to do! I envy girls with smooth skin with little to no blonde facial hair. It's preventing me from talking to people up close and wearing my hair up in fear of it being exposed.

I'm 68 so you could expect some facial hair. It used to be the occasional extra thick hair and I'd pluck it out. It would come back, but it would take a while. Then suddenly all the hairs on my "beard" area started growing aggressively -- too many to pluck. I have a cousin who shaves, so I bought an electric shaver. BAD MOVE!! Fortunately my hairs are very light colored, but if they weren't, I would have a 5:00 shadow every day.

Does anybody know whether this Vaniqa stuff actually works?

Has anyone tried applying progesterone cream? You can get it over the counter.
