Have you noticed the gray hair trend taking root? Are you a part of it? Do you know someone that is? Tell us your thoughts about this growing revolution.

Whatever you may think of the sprouting of this “granny hair” trend, it is blossoming everywhere.

As a result, we decided to look deeper into this growing fashion statement, what started it, why it's so popular, and share what we learned.

I think grey hair looks lovely. I see no reason a person should not dye their hair grey. Plus, older women feel flattered by the fashion. Because losing hair/hair becoming grey in old age can be deeply distressing. If fashion helps older people deal with this, then it is great to have that fashion.

Fashion should fit all people: such as curvy women now advertising clothing. The world - and fashion industry - has realized that not all women are skinny. There is a huge market for plus size clothing, hence the fashion boom.

I liken this to the grey hair fashion: because women are beautiful no matter their age and need to celebrate living long and happy lives. If fashion helps this, I am all for it. And women have always been seen as objects of beauty and older women - as I've said - are beautiful, too. Because fashion should not be only for the young.

That's what I think.

I have a few greys on the side of my hair but I keep it shaved close.

I noticed 1 or 2 on my pubes recently but I keep that shaved on 0 with a razor

It's great on the younger women I think. I love the silver I see occasionally.
Being middle aged, I'm ok with delaying my greys as long as possible. I have a patch of white that I hide for now.

Great perspectives! I have a few myself, mainly on the left temple which I think is weird...but whatever. My boyfriend is 11 years younger than me with very dark hair and he has a head full of grays. I think if mine got heavier and was localized to one spot, it would probably bother me enough to color it until it was at least consistent. But then again, perhaps I just wouldn't care.

I admire and think women who go gray naturally are lovely! I know that for most of them, especially dark-headed ladies there is a tough transition.

Grey public hair would put a downer on my or a partners mortality lol. I don't want underneath my underwear to ever look old!

I'm not sure, really. It seems like so much easier of a transition for those who are already blonde. I almost think I'd do a washout color a couple times per year until the gray had mostly taken over, then once I stopped the dye I'd have a more consistent color. But then again, I have some friends who are going gray and their "silver highlights" really look lovely. I guess it all just depends on how it comes in.

My boyfriend is 11 years younger than me and has a LOT of gray hair. I told him if he keeps trying to pull them out he will be bald soon.

I don't think I'd ever notice gray hairs down below on a guy. But then again, the "going gray" thing has been much more acceptable for men over the years. Whether it's on their head, chest, armpits, face, etc...it's just sort of been accepted as part of "being a man."

I love when people go naturally grey! My greys come in super wiry, so I color my hair. A friend's grey came in like perfect highlights! Looks very cool.
