this is probably why half the people make an account

I'm a little scared. I had sex with my boyfriend for the first time 5 days ago. At that point my period was already one day overdue.

    My period still hasn't come.

People are telling me that it's because I"m nervous, and God knows I am nervous. More than I ever thought I would be, and starting the day right after sex. Can extreme (i've had panic attacks) nervousness be a cause for a late period? Is that really likely? We used a condom, the standard days model (it was one day before my period remember) and he pulled out.

Tomorrow I'm going to use parsley to hopefully bring about menstruation. I've heard it works well for that.

Can anyone share a similar experience (preferrably with a happy ending) to put my mind at ease?

wow, I already feel a little better actually.

One thing I forgot to mention though. I'm also experiencing alot of discharge, which is unusual. It's clear and it's a fair amount ALL the time. Is that unusual?

I'm sure i sound like every other paranoid girl, but please realize anything you have to say is helping me stay sane.

Sift through the threads about this, and you'll see that people almost never have anything to worry about. I agree with ChelseaRenee.
And as a side note, if you look at symptoms of pregnancy vs symptoms of PMS, you'll see they're almost identical. With PMS, your period comes, with pregnancy, it doesn't. You can skip months and months of periods and never be pregnant.

I've been sifting through the threads, and I DO feel better.

Can I just get one last confirmation that stress can delay the period?

Stress can for sure. My last period before the one I'm on now was August 28-September 4. I thought I was pregnant, all tests were negative. My period came November 11. Don't worry too much, it'll come. You used a condom and he pulled out. I had unprotected sex with my husband, and he didn't pull out, and I'm not pregnant :P

If it makes you feel better ...

I had the same problem and still seem to be suffering the consequences! I first really truly had sex the end of September, and something set me off in early October into thinking I was pregnant ... I think I had gotten sick, and a fever. Which really makes no sense. But anyway, I started reading up on the internet, freaking out, my period came on light (blood for maybe 1 or two days and then brown for a few more), and I had little aches and pains. I stressed constantly. I made my boyfriend stress. The health center did a urine test and it came out negative. I went and bought First Response Early Detection or something, three to a pack, did one each within a week of each other all through to the end of October, each came out completely negative. After that, its kind of hard to think you are still pregnant.

I seem to have a pretty bad yeast infection now, however, and am thinking it might be systemic, and that I might have a hormone imbalance ... or that the systemic is causes the hormone issue. But I have since calmed down about that big scare, and am sitting her getting annoyed at my bloating, bowel issues, and nipple discharge in the shower at night. If anyone has any experience or ideas about yeast infections and has ever had it systemically, feel free to let me know, haha. I am planning to see the health center again soon.

But yeah, actually waiting on my period this time around, but god knows why its late. I think its doubtful now I'm pregnant. Stress can kill you and make your body go insane, is all I'm saying :P

Yep, stress can do that for ya!

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Also, I wouldn't even do the parsley thing... psh... just chill and wait

Ya, same here! My boyfriend and I were fooling around (no sex and he didn't come) but I was convinced I was having pregnancy symptoms instead of pms symptoms. I was supposed to get my period yesterday but now I have this icky brown stuff and the littlest amount of blood.. not sure if it's my period but I think it was delayed cause I was stressing so much (my stomach was sooooo upset for a week after meals)
