anyone been thru the same as me

hi im new to this forum but would like to know if anyone has been thru the same or similar as me,up until bout 5 years ago i didnt really have a problem with periods and that but then they started getting painful and heavy, had allsorts of tests done and couldnt find anything, put me on the coil but had to have it removed as it made me really ill.i was sterilised 3 years ago as i didnt want anymore kids, but i would say 6 months after the sterilisation my periods got worse, extremelly painful so the doc put me on ponstan, but then i was getting bad period pains in between periods,i bleed between periods,i bleed after sex,and as for pmt iv never had it b4 but a week leading up to my period im like snappy, irritable, emotional, and as i suffer with ibs its 10 times worse!i get bloated,i feel sick and all i want to do is feel normal again
several months ago i went to the doc and told her that iv had enuf and want my life back, she sed the best thing is to have a hysterectomy but wernt so sure, anyway went back and thought if its the only answer,so i had my hospital app yesterday thinkin like the doc sed they will try and talk me out of it,but oh no they sed no full stop!bcos my tests were normal and healthy they say the prob aint cumin from there...do they think its in my head, that i enjoy this!i couldv cried,b4 makin a drastic decision they want to try sumin else, giv me a jab once a month for 3 months,it puts u in2 a menapausle state, basically if my probs disappear they will do the op,if they dont they wont,so now i gota wait 4 months as the first jab dont take effect til 4 weeks later,in a way its a good test to see if i need the hysterectomy but totally not what i was expecting,so at the mo all iv got to look forward to is hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings...great!
has anyone been thru like ur just been thrown from pillar to post cos i no i do.

Hi - sounds like you're going through it. My heart goes out to you - sometimes being a woman is hard. I have not had those exact problems but I've always had the heavy periods first few days, cramps, mood swings - bad PMS. Any birth control that I have ever tried has always had adverse affects - either weight gain, headaches, nausea or dizziness. The only thing that works for me is the Vaginal Contraceptive Film and condoms.

But, I would suggest going to the WebMD website and entering your symptoms. I've never had a symptom for anything that I couldn't find on that website so maybe you can get some help there.

I know that this is a hard time for you but hang in there maybe current treatment will heed better results you just have to wait it out and maybe your doctor can tell you what you may be able to do to lesson the hot flashes and such. Hope this was of some help to you - good luck to you!
