    Period not stopping

Ok, I feel like I've been going crazy, but reading some posts up here is making me feel a bit better...

I am 30, childless, and have had few problems with my period ever.

My period has just started going wonky over the last month or so. I had my period like normal, then it started a week later. Three weeks went by then it came back like normal again, only it seemed to be lasting too long. It started a week ago Friday, slowed down mid week and I'd been spotting ever since. Tonight, just when I thought it was slowing down, it is back to full force again, and a brighter red than I am used to seeing.

I am going to call my dr tomorrow.... but it's still freaking me out a bit. I'd been going for thyroid tests not long ago, and I am wondering if this could be a result of hypothyroidism, or if it might be cysts

There is a ton of stuff that could cause this, most of it inconvienient but not serious. Getting a good examination is the best place to start. Once you find out what is going on you can do your homework and discuss treatment options with your doctor.

Thanks... It's really bothering me right now, since its just gotten suddenly heavy and really bright and I've started cramping a little. Mostly I am freaking out so it's good to keep that in mind!
