    Need Info On Cervical Biopsy!!!

I Recently Had A Pap Smear And My Doctor's Office Called And Said It Came Back Abnormal. They Want To Perform A Biopsy.
Can Anyone Give Me Info On The Procedure And/or Share Any Experiences Regarding This.
I Am Upset And Worried, Thinking The Worst, "cervical Cancer".
I Am Only 22, But I'm Still Freaking Out.

    biopsy

hey pumpkin not to worry, the test doesn't really hurt they just stick this camera up there so they can see what thier doing and you get to see what your cervix looks like, it's pretty cool. The best thing to do is DONT WORRY I know that's hard to do but there is no sense getting all down and depressed if there is no reason to. Good luck I will pray for you

Hey..I wouldn't worry too much.At our age, abnormal pap smears are kind of normal, only because of HPV. I'm only 20 and recently went through the biopsy plus another surgery called leep. The biopsy felt like a pinch. Kind of like a hole punch lol..but afterwards I had cramping, be sure not to take advil until after the procedure, because my doctor couldn't get the bleeding to stop. My results came back that I had HGSIL which are abnormal cells that are deeper into the cervix. I had them removed by leep, which I was put under IV sedation for. Good luck and everything will turn out fine!

I have had two biopsies, there is nothing to be afraid of. The thought is much worse, I lost my voice as I was so anxious. When they come to nip a small biopsy they will take you through the stages, I found coughing really helped as they did it. Didnt feel it at all on my last one, results came back as minor and had clear pap test after that so all is well. Just keep calm, the treatment for cancer would be more traumatic, so treat this as a preventative measure. If it is sinister and caught in the early stages, the treatment is bearable and they really look after you. Take care.
