I know that there is an available vaccine, but it is only for not older than 26 years old... what would happen if a person has it, what treatments should she undergo (after 6 moths of repeat PAPSmear and yielded same result)?

Does complete hysterectomy solve cervical cancer? I am so uninformed!

  • I'm not sure, but, I was told that it can if you catch it early enough. When I was 17, I was diagnosed with HPV - the kind to cause Cervical CAncer - which is what you have - I think. And well, they told me that it was nothing to worry about if you keep getting a screening/Paps when they tell you too.

I'm 19 and my pap only came up as abnormal when I was 17 and it hasn't since because of my constant screening.

So, I would suggest you ask your doctor or call a doctor for info. They should do it for free. I hope that helps you.

I hope you get the answers you're looking for.

    • It was a friend of mine who has it, and I wish to help her and understand her situation better by not asking her a lot about it. I am afraid I come across as intrusive and insensitive, know. But I just want to be an able support for her by knowing the nature of the disease.

      Thanks.
