    Extreme vaginal itch

    Hi,

new to this group. I was hoping to talk to other women about a problem I've been having. For the past 24 days (yes, I've been counting) I've been experiencing extreme constant vaginal itch. Went to doc, he took a culture and said it was yeast. Put me on Diflucan for 5 days. At the end of five days I ended up in the emergency room because the itching had become so intense I couldn't stand it. Nothing stopped it, day and night I literally did nothing but scracth around the clock. No sleep, no eating. The emergency room doc shot me up with benodryl, and prescribed 5 days of 40 mg. of predisone and another five days of diflucan. Plus they gave me some numbning ointment to numb my vagina.

that worked for two nights then it was back to the doctors because the itch was not subsiding. Doc gave me steroid cream and linocane. (numbing cream) Said yeast infection was gone, and I was suffering from residual itching. Told me not to scratch. Yeah, as if that was possible. Linocane dried me bad and I still itched. 3 days later I go to dermatologist who tells me to stop everything and gives me clobetasol propionate and tells me it will stop the itching. Yeah, right. that was 5 days ago and I have not left the house since. The ithcing is a tad better, (as long as I stay in bed, naked legs spread, bathe 3-4 times a day in baking soda and use the steroid cream several times a day) Today I called the dermatologist again, (she hasn't called me back yet) to see how long it will take for this stuff to work.

Bottom line is, will this ever stop? I've done everything I can. I have a store to run which I haven't been to in over a week. I can't live like this anymore. Has anyone had this kind of problem? Or experience with clobetasol propionate? It seemed to work for a bit, now the ithcing is back again. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the same itchy problem except I did not have a yeast infection. I recently started using an over the counter hemorrhoid ointment, I know wierd, but using it 3-4 times a day and changing a liner just as often and baking soda baths it seems to be working. The ointment is called Americain it's 20% BENZOCAINE. Its worth a shot.
