'Bloody Sac' fell out of girlfriend today while she was on her period. help
About 2 days ago my girlfriend started her period while being on the birth control depo shot. then today she went to take out her tampon and when she was using the bathroom a 'bloody sac' fell out of her. I didnt see it but she said it was weird... what should I do?.. If i am not mistaken depo makes girls miss their cycles right? ANy idea of what this is? -
What should you do? Nothing unless she asks you to.
You don't say anything about what size it was, or indeed what she meant by sac. It was probably some coagulated blood. Looks a bit like dark red jello, comes in various sizes. It's just where the blood has collected behind her tampon and coagulated into a lump. Nothing at all to worry about.
Depo can make some women miss their periods. It is not a definite - the stats I read said just over half of the women who take it for a year stop having regular cycles or completely stop. It is more likely that your girlfriend's periods will continue for now (depending how long she's been on Depo, but be prepared for them to be irregular. She may also experience 'spotting' - light bleeding between periods or instead of periods.
Ask her if you can read the literature she was given when she got the injection - it's great you're taking an interest, read that will give you an idea of what to expect and what to look out for.
