Hello! I am 30 years old and have been on the pill since I was 17years old. Recently about a year ago, I decided to come off the pill and have a period that was normal. While coming off the pill, it literally took about 1 year to finally get a period. I have had a period for the past 5 months now but this month is completly different. I had a period that began on the 3rd of April and stopped on the 13th. Now I have started a new period again on the 18th but its not where I have to wear a pad or tampon, i just see red when I wipe myself. Could you recommend what I might be experiencing? I am thinking since I didnt have one for so long I could be making up for lost time, is that possible. What would you recommend a person in this situation do?

Go and see your GP and get a referal to a gynae, I am in the same boat as you. I want to have a baby and have been off the pill since September. I am told if you get your period too often you are not ovulating. I went for an internal & external ulta sound yesterday, this should tell the gyneo what is going on. I am sure he will put me in day surgury for a clean out then hormoan tablets to get things back on track. Good luck, don't leave it too long to get it sorted..

I am 49 and had that problem when I was having my babies. My husband had me have TL at 25 unfortunately I remarried. But the problem is I am a heavy bleeder and cannot wait for menopause. However my advice is avoid stress and be positive on everything.
My current husband stopped me from over medication and instead I get massaged for every pain and it helps me

Birth control really throws your body's natural cycles and hormone levels off. Your body has to recover and that is not always a fast process. Every woman responds differently to this situation and each birth control has different side effects. I took the Depo Provera injection for 5 years. When I finally stopped, I did not have a period for over a year. When I finally had a period, it was spotty as you described and it took me two years to get back to any kind of normal flow. So it is possible that you are having normal symptoms and there is no telling how long it will take your period to normalize. If you are concerned that there may be another issue, make a visit to a gynecologist for some peace of mind.
