My girlfriend finished her last period on august 29th. From that day, forward, we had not had unprotected sex until this past friday, when the condom broke. She was already late. We went to the local pharmacy saturday morning and got the Next Choice ( morning after ) pill and took it as directed. She still has not had her period. It has been 39 days today since her last period. She says she is usually irregular. Oh, and she is not on birth control. How worried should I be? Please don't tell me to get a pregnancy test because I am scared to death of those things. What kind of effect should the morning after pill have had on her period if it was already 4 to 5 days late? Is this normal? PLEASE HELP ME

If she's irregular, there's no telling. However, I know the morning after pill can wreak havoc on a woman's cycle.
I'd guess you two are fine....however...get a pregnancy test to be sure...it will be effective now.
NOW:
Use this as your warning. If the condom breaks...discontinue sex and get a new one. Are a few seconds of pleasure worth a lifetime of changing diapers before you're ready?
Be careful and practice safe sex.Comment

why are you scared of pregnancy test? Is it the answer it might give you. If she's pregnant, a test is the only way to know. Us telling you "no she's not" does not mean she isn't. We can only tell you our best advice. Go get a test and check. I personally doubt she is pragnant but you need to be sure in order to ease your mind

Ok, So I understand where you all are coming from. Don't get me wrong, we have already decided that if she doesn't have her period come this weekend, we are going to get a test. I guess I should have rephrased my question to this:
What does this probably mean? Good chance she is pregnant or not? (Granted, I know you all are not doctors)
I am absolutely losing my mind being so worried about this.
ThanksComment

I took Plan B recently and haven't been normal since. You can get a pregnancy test for free at a local clinic, especially if you're young. You may also want to consider starting oral contraceptives. But about the condom breaking, it's happened to me before; we didn't find out until he'd finished, and neither of us has ever been so scared. But everything was fine. Things like that will happen, but a hint: make sure you use some water-based lubricant if she needs it; it can make the condom break if you don't.If she's irregular, there's no telling. However, I know the morning after pill can wreak havoc on a woman's cycle.
