About 3 days ago I had really intense ovarian pain...It was hard for me to fall asleep at night, and the next day, it was painful to walk. I assumed that it was a normal sign of ovulation, but just more intense than other months for some reason. I was also having an increase in vaginal discharge- white, normal looking, but in excess. I had had this type of pelvic/ovarian pain the past, and because of it, refused to have sex with my boyfriend.
Then a couple days later, my breasts started really really started to hurt-- I mean, painful to the touch, painful to walk, and I don't have big breasts....
So, i started looking all over the internet for symptom checkers and answers, and I kept coming across a common answer-- ovarian cysts.
Does anyone think that my symptoms sound like ovarian cysts?
It's pain in both of my ovary-regions, not just localized to one or the other, so I'm worried that it's something else.
I started thinking about it, and I do have really painful menstrual cramps, a day before and the 1st day of my period. I did have an unusually heavy period this month- but really thought nothing of it.
Also, a couple of months ago, my therapist suggested that I have my thyroid hormones checked- because I've been very tired lately. I have been hypothyroid before, but only when I was at an unhealthy, low weight. I do have some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism: intolerance to cold, dry-skin, fatigue, some depression, but I assumed that these were just normal for me.
I looked it up, and apparently ovarian cysts can sometimes be triggered by hypothyroidism/other hormonal imbalances.
And another thing-- I've just quit smoking! and I was thinking, maybe the decrease in nicotine/other cigarette chemicals has changed my hormonal body chemistry, specifically my metabolism, which might contribute to hypothyroid.....?
Anyway,
I'm pretty darn sure that I'm not pregnant,...there's really no way.
What do you think? I'm really in pain here...I know I should go to the doctor right away, but I have so little free time these days it might be a couple of weeks before I get there.
thanks,
