I began reading tonight about Iron Deficency Anemia and it made me wonder about could PCOS cause women to fight with anemia and if so, what can be done to prevent it from affecting us so much?

What can cause anemia in women?
I have been feeling really down the past 2-3 days...I have been gettind dizzy spells, shaky spells, cold all the time when I normally am not this way, tired a lot, and overall feel bad. I have been thinking that my Iron is down and that is why I am feeling so bad.

Iron supplements are iffy, your body cannot utilize the iron from many types. Dietary sources are best but you may have trouble eating enough. Spinach is good but you must have some fat with it in order for you body to break it down - a vinegar and oil dressing made with olive oil is a good source. Animal products such as sardines or liver are high in iron. Citrus or foods high in vit C will help absorption too so include tomatoes and oranges.
You can do a search and find all sorts of info on this.Comment

I've had a sneaking suspicion that I'm anemic, my sister is and I remember how she acted before she was diagnosed. Slept after almost every meal, everything was so much effort, just had absolutely no energy to do anything. The past year or so i've felt the same, I just feel heavy and I faint alot. My Dr makes me nervous so I just assumed I was anemic too, going by my sister symptoms so, if im feeling low, I drink guinness as a pick me up
