I'm 14 and am not sure if I have started my period or not. For the past few years I have been getting a lot of white or clear discharge. About a month and a half or so ago I found that I had a very little bit of brownish discharge. It lasted a few days and then stopped. But then a few days ago I noticed a lot of what looked like brown blood in my underwear and thought it was my first period so I started wearing tampons but there was very little on them and it was still brown. About two days after it started it completely stopped. I'm 14 almost 15 and really should have started my period already. I'm confused and worried about what's going on. Please help!

Brown period?
Hello,
I'm 14 and am not sure if I have started my period or not. -
When I first started going through puberty I would have a ALOT of clear discharge about once a month and then it finally turned to where I was menstrating normally. Also when my period starts it is more of a brown discharge and then turns to blood (this also happens at the end too). I always figured the brown was that you are bleeding but not alot so the blood turns brown (like dried blood) before it makes it's way out. I wouldn't be too concerned every body matures at thier own rate but you can always talk to your doctor about it. -
Have to agree with QueenGinger.
When we start to have menstral, it's not always the norm as you may hear/read, it's finding and trying and starting.
I think I was 13 when mine started 11, when my breasts started to develop.
Don't stress and welcome to becoming a woman
