Endometriosis
I was diagnosed with endometriosis a few months ago due to severe abdominal pain. Well after going on lupron I am still in a lot of pain and can't find anything to really help. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am in between doctors right now so I am trying to find a doc who knows about endo, and who will listen to me. When I find one anybody have a recommendation for what kind of treatment I should ask about? -
Ask about everything you can think of.
Diet, exercise, herbal remedies, progestrone cream, surgery...really ask a million questions.
I had endo as well. I ended up having the laser surgery, which I don't think helped all that much. It just cost a ton of money since I don't have insurance.
I tried different BC pill, most of which would help a little bit for a few months. I used the progesterone cream last year and that worked wonders! But above all, the thing that worked the best was just getting in really good shape and exercising at least an hour or two 6/week.
Good luck to you. And don't settle for a doctor who won't spend the time talking to you about it. Not much is know about endo, but there are options. -
progesterone cream? Is that a prescription? What kind of exercises do you do? I found that most of them hurt really bad, I am having a hard time even doing basic cleaning now.
I am actually changing insurance right now because I can't find a doc to listen to me. My new insurance will cover the doc that will listen. It's a relief!Comment

You can get progestrone cream at the health food store. I got the brand 'progestaCare'
If you're having trouble doing day-to-day things like cleaning then you definitely need to get to a doctor that will listen to you. Can you walk or jog? I started slowly and did a lot of spinning classes, now I run and box. But you should take care of the majority of pain first.
Who told you that you have endo? The only way to know for sure is to go in with a scope and look, which they also treat it right then and there. So if you haven't had the scope surgery, then there is no way to know for sure if you actually have it. So at this point it's just theory. Just ask your doctor LOTS of questions.Comment

I can't really walk well anymore. For a short ways anyway. I did have the scope and the scrape, apparently I do have it and my doc said it was severe. Then I went on lupron. Well now some of the docs are saying that since lupron didn't work it can't be endo. And others say that even with no estrogen I can still have it. Right about now I would be willing to have a full hysterectomy, not my favorite idea but one I would go with if it would help.
So do you just put the cream on your abdomen? How long before it helps?Comment

You put it on your abdomen, inner thighs, chest, underarms...basically you rotate. One day on your chest, the next on your belly or low back, etc. (thin skin areas) You can use it once, or twice a day. For your case, probably twice, eh? I noticed a change within a couple of weeks and even bigger changes in a month or two.
I had the scope and scrape too and it didn't seem to help all that much. I was expecting to feel completely different the next day and it was about the same.
