Ok so i have had frequent UTI's for 2 years and i have alot of trouble urinating. They gave me an ultrasound because i couldnt go in the office and i still had a lot of urine in me.

So now im getting this cystoscopy done and I am terrified. Not so much of the results because how bad can it be? I'm young, heathy, fit, the odds are on my side.

But the test itself. I know how painful things can be down there and this sounds more scary then anything.

Anyone ever had one and could let me know how it was?

I haven't had one, but I almost did. There was a time when I retained so much urine no matter what I do. Like you, I am in good shape, drink water sufficiently, no other issues but a genetic predetermination to be in such condition.

I drank coconut water 24/7 as soon as I void a little, I drink again... (glad it was accessible where I was back then - tropics). The doctor also prescribed a pill I can't remember what.

After 2 days, I was able to void normally, and then I took a potassium pill my doctor added to what she prescribed earlier. Then after about 8 weeks, I eliminated a 1mm size of kidney stone.

It surely is uncomfortable undergoing the procedure. I hope you get through with it OK.

Take this time to try to relax. The more you condition your mind that it will be painful, the harder it will be.

I know i am trying to be calm but i am so very scared. I wish someone could just walk me through how theirs went. I am also getting this other test where they fill my bladder with water until i have to pee... then i do. Also fun.
