  • Feeling Worried.

As a young woman, I wander why I am so worried. I try to eat right and think more positive. I worry about my past periods and why they were so heavy and chunky. Why I had to go through all that confusion. Why I had suddenly realizing that I had been anemic and had been having symptoms of anemia. That is in cause you didn't know, lack of oxygen or iron in the blood, where the body couldn't have time to replenish itself.

I wish that there were simpler ways to explain that, but my life was been made more difficult having heaving bleeding and anemia at the same time. I am only 23, and that means I am getting too old to be allowing myself to be putting up with it this long. I tried getting on some meds, now I have nothing now.

I feel better and I don't have those effects of anemia so bad anymore, and pads are not being bought so frequently anymore. I still might admit that I feel the clinging symptoms of anemia, but not as bad as it had been.

I worry that I might for some reason in my future that I may not be able to supply my needs to help control this issue. I fear that if I come into a situation that I can not have the ability to care for my problem.

The future, every timely issue needs a moment to consider, and I think so often on this that it ruins my days sometimes just on the concerned thoughts I have on this subject alone. One thing such as maybe I may not be covered by insurance or my parents might restrict it from me to some random reason. On the other hand, my doctor was more than glad to assure me that I would be fine if I continue to treat myself as he directs me to currently. I have fears, and I want to be assured that I will happily be able to supply myself with that I need for my medical problem as a woman.

Then I will be able to smile and live out my life respectively confident and thankful that I can take care of myself and live a normal life as everyone else does around me everyday.

Please help me find confidence and assurance that I will be able to care for my needs when I get older and the current time. That is really all I am asking, there is no real big deal in this, something so simple is all I ever need to be strong and healthy everyday of my life, and I can be thankful for that if that is even possible.

  • I'm going to move your thread to gynocology and if that doesn't promote assistance, I may move it again, Lounge is more a "fun section" and what you are experiencing isn't fun.

There are lots of things you can take for iron deficiency. I think most women who loose too much blood suffer from this. It appears that your cycle is not interfering in the way that it previously was which is a good sign.

There are iron supplements you can take as well that will help, consult maybe also a health specialist that can guide you in the direction of what types of food groups contain the most iron as well.

And a healthy mind, leads to a healthy body.

      So, try affirmations as well...

      Good luck.

      • Reading your notation on "chat", which stated you are always feeling down, what else is getting you down?

In the meantime, I'm bringing this thread up again, in case others have further ideas for you.

        • Anemia could also give you that feeling of 'down'. I had it when I was in high school - my fault - I was extremely picky with food.

Parents had to force feed me with grilled liver (ewww) and bitter melon fruit and leaves (which I learned to like). I do eat them now, even shared it to my husband.

In addition to your ferrous fumarate supplements (I think it's OTC), you could also take B-complex vitamins to help your appetite, then Vitamin D to help you with the mood.

Best if you could make little lifestyle changes as well. Maybe go out for walks, exercise, and tweak your diet/eating pattern.
