    Some Help?

I think I'm abnormally dry...down below. I mean, there is just NO moisture there at all, except for when I'm turned on, then obviously I get really wet. I woke up last night, and I was so dry that I was itching (which happens a bit anyway, so I was used to ignoring/dealing with that), but I was also stinging, really badly, and I couldn't stop it.
My labia on the left was all swollen up, to like, 3 times its size and was really red.
I've been putting tea tree oil down there to soothe the itch, when it happens, but last night nothing helped to stop the itch or the sting. I'm too embarrassed to go to a doctor, but I don't know what to do.

Definitely don't be embarrassed. OB-GYNs deal with more vag problems than you can even imagine. They've seen it all.

We can't really tell you what it could be or how to properly treat it. Are you on the pill? The pill has been known to cause dryness in some women. I was horribly, painfully dry while on each of the different pills I've tried. Have you ever been tested for STDs? Perhaps you've tried out a new body soap/lotion/laundry detergent that isn't agreeing with your skin? Maybe it's from using spermicide or latex condoms? Irritation from shaving? It could be any number of things.

The only thing you can do right now is worry and speculate until you get it checked out. Please go see your doctor..and let us know how it works out!

Thanks for responding. Yeah I am on the pill, but I've not had this problem before. I haven't been tested for any STD's. I haven't switched to any new soaps or lotions either... But the condoms are latex, I just don't see how that would cause it...

You may have a latex sensitivity, many women do and just cannot use condoms.

However, like Stina said, get into the Dr and get checked out. You won't be showing the Dr anything they haven't seen before and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Alright, I guess I will call a doctor about it, thank you all for your help. I appreciate it.

Glad you are going to see a Doc. It could be many things even a mild UTI. Let us know how all turns out. Good luck!
