Tubal Ligation..any one else have this problem?

A little background...2 years ago at 40 I had my last child. A couple of months later I had a tubal ligation. I did not have it done at the time of my daughter's birth since I delivered in a Catholic hospital.
Anyway since having the procedure my periods are unbearable and my libido is gone. For my husband's sake we still have sex but I really have no sex drive. The doctors so far have been no help. I've tried doing research about this and have found very little info that helps. I've also found something about post tubal ligation syndrom but most doctors discount this but most of my symptoms do fall into this category. The doctors want to put me on the pill for my period problems and I think to myself then why did I get my tubes tied if I have to take the pill? I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so did you find a solution. Any advice would help.
    Thanks

I had gone through this phase myself, and it was not easy at all. The (ex) husband never understood, so he forced and coerced me to the deed until I got burned out and really became a log. It created me some trauma, and that's another story to tell.

Even if doctors don't admit, I believe there is something that gets altered due to tubal ligation - could be hormones or some "feeling" nerves, or both. On my part, I just waited, and I think it took me about 4 years to "feel" again. I didn't have your period problems, but I do still have irregular cycle which drives me insane.

In addition to pyshiological factors, daily stress could also add up to your problem - something like post-partum depression. You must seek the service of a counselor just to help you process through your thoughts, believe me, it helps.

      Mrs. Doc,

I had a tubal ligation myself about 6 years ago. Ive also had problems with a decreased sex drive and menstrual problems. I don't think I can attribute the menstrual problems with the surgery because I was having some issues prior to the surgery. In fact when I went in for the surgery they found some endomitryosis (sp?) and they went ahead and burned that off. I did not have any problems after that until last year. I wish you luck in your journey and I can understand your frustration. It can be a very long road. I wish I could offer you more but I am still on mine. I have tried pills, depo shot, now I am scheduled for a hysterectomy. I hope that drs are able to find the right course for you.
