    Hi Whitedove,

You should feel some pain with ovarian cysts - I've got a history of them and it feels like ... like someone is jabbing a spoon or something (my experience is that it is more of a dull pain) into your pelvic region. If you leave it, and it bursts, that's when it will hurt. I almost passed out - but since mine are benign and just normal fluid filled, it wasn't a problem. So I don't think that you have to worry about ovarian cysts.

I'm not sure that cycles are genetic? You may want to keep a journal of how long your periods last, how heavy, how you were feeling - pain and emotions, so that you are aware of how your cycle works. If you are constantly having periods, you will need to see your doctor and possibly go on BCPs to regulate it. It could also just be your body getting used to becoming a woman!! It may take a few months for your body to settle down to a regular cycle.

I would definitely not be worried at this point. Just keep track of it ...

if its the first one then they take a while to become truly regular
you can have a bit of bleeding for a couple of days and then nothing
and then a week later get some more.
      it should stabilize in time.

if you're really worried about cysts then see your doctor
they will be able to put your mind at rest.

since stress is a cause of periods being irregular its probably not helping that you're worrying so much.

      take care

its okay sweets, i was all over the place when i got mine
and i wish i'd had somewhere where i could talk about it and get answers.
it can be quite scary especially with all the other changes that happen around that time.

          you'll be okay
but if you get scared about anything
          just ask yeah?

          all my love x
