no period since April 22nd, REALLY NEED HELP
My periods usually last 7 days. April 22nd was my last period and it only lasted 5 days. My husband and I have been trying for a child since April. It is now June 17th and I was suppose to start two days ago. In May, I took 3 tests up to 2 weeks after missed period and they all came out negative. I am confused of what is going on... any suggestions of what could be happening? Is there a slight chance I am still pregnant or is it something else?

Take another HPT. Many things can alter your period. You said yourself that your periods usually last 7 days. I'd take that to mean... sometimes it lasts longer, sometimes shorter. Missing your period all together in may could be due to pregnancy... could be due to stress, you said you are hoping for a baby... and the lighter period in april may have gotten you excited enough to stress your body, trick your hormones into skipping your period, especially taking the tests etc.
Its weird how sometimes worrying about pregnancy, or anticipating it... can sometimes throw a period off. But its been almost a month that you've missed a period and there should be enough of the pregnancy hormone in your body to show up on hpt at this point, so do take one. If you still show negative, and still don't have a period see your doctor to take a blood test testing for pregnancy.
Have you had any other changes in your life? Stopping birth control recently? Gaining weight? Losing weight? Some change in medicine? Sleep? Stress? Exercise? Any number of things can throw your hormones off and delay a period while your body adjusts.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going. -
No, I agree.... prenatal vitamins wouldn't throw off your hormones. Some women do not have a strong enough level of the pregnancy hormone for it to show positive in an early hpt like you took.... its been , I think close to a month since you've taken one so I'd definitely do that again. If its still showing negetive and no period, see a doctor for them to take another form of the test just in case you aren't secreting it in your urine in a strong enough volume for detection, a blood test is far more accurate.Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.Comment
