someone help me please nobody can give me any answers!

    These are my symptoms

    1. Whtie milky discharge that smells fishy. The smell gets worse as you go further inside
    2. Vagincal burning. The burning is inside of me on the vaginal walls. There is no external discomfort
    3. Pain during deep thrust sex. It feels like a sharp almost bloating pain. I can also feel this pain when I push up on my cervix with my fingers and bare down.
    4. bloating in my lower abdomen

I know it sounds like some sort of bacterial infection but my cultures come back negative for bacteria and yeast. I have also been tested for STDs numerous times and they alwyas come back negative. Ive had 2 ultrasounds done and they say everything looks normal. The second one showed fluid build up but he wasnt worried at all. He said a cycst might have ruptured and the pain would quickly go away but it hasnt. Ive been on metronidazole(sp?) and 2 weeks of diflucan just in case they just didnt show up in the cultures..nothing worked. I take acidophillis and eat yogert with live cultures. He said next step is to actually look inside with a camera but I'm scared that there is something seriously wrong this me. I stopped having sex because of all this. Im only 21

I was going to say BV before you said nothing grew out on cultures. I am experiencing the same thing and have been for the past 2 years (started when I was 20).

Is it possible that you are experiencing some kind of allergic reaction? That should be ruled out first. Something like a latex/semen allergy can cause irritation and therefore discharge.

Is there anything particular to your discharge besides a fishy smell? That's highly indicative of a bacterial infection since yeast smells more like beer. If there are a lot of white blood cells in the discharge, Cervicitis could be a possibility.

Anything unusual occur before it started? Even something small like being on medication for something entirely different.

Also, I just saw you started another thread and stated you were diagnosed with HPV? It's not very common, but sometimes HPV can cause an unusual discharge...since it is a viral infection, there wouldn't really be a way to treat it. Your system would have to work itself out. I'd talk more with a doctor about that being a possibility and finding a way to manage the pain.

You can also still have a bacterial infection, but it just isn't showing up. How many cultures have been done? Sometimes it will take several before anything grows for some reason. Also, some things require special tests and you need to ask for the doc/lab to do them specifically. Some less common causes of BV are things like myoplasma/ureaplasma, glabrata yeast, strep A+B. You should probably have cultures redone and have them do an aerobic and anaerobic culture to see if there could be something else.

I would say get a second opinion on this. It sounds like BV to me. There were times where I had to actually go see another doctor and they found out what was wrong exactly.

I cant think of anything that would be causing an allergic reaction. I thought that too until i started just using hot water to wash myself and still had the symptoms. It seems that my symptoms started when i was diagnosed with HPV but they keep telling me its not related! My discharge is thick, sometimes white and smells almost fishy. I have had 2 cultures done. Im calling my doctor tomorrow to get another one done. I was on antibiotics for BV just in case tho, thats what is confusing me. It is common for antiobiotics to not work at all for this? Also, i have pin pointed my pelvic pain to the colon side all the way up the fornix. When i press on that I get almost a bruised feeling. Im thinking maybe I have more than one problem at once. Im scared that I have endometriosis or something but i would think that would come up on the ultrasound.

Sometimes people need multiple courses of treatment before it starts to work. If you've already been on the Flagyl stuff, they should probably try Clindamycin next. It's less harsh and most of the time works just as well.
