vaginal burning for over a month

Middle of May, one day i woke up and had some vaginal burning, thought it was maybe because some soap wasn't rinsed away or something. Three days later, it was still there, along with abnormal discharge so i started researching. I came to the conclusion that maybe I had BV, so i started taking Fem-Dophilus 2x a day. Three days into that, still no relief so I went to a health food store looking for something. I bought Twinlab's "Yeast Fighters" (5 pills, 3x a day).

A week of that with STILL no relief, I found my way to a family planning center on June 3rd. Ghonnorhea, Clamydia and Herpes tests were done. She said I had some yeast and gave me a Rx for Diflucan. Took the Diflucan ASAP, four days later...no relief. Called them, they said to take the refill. No relief. I still figured I had BV and not a yeast infection, so i started some natual "remedies" for BV. I started taking 500mg of garlic and 800mg of folic acid 3x a day. A week and a half later...no relief...if anything it's worse. I also noticed two pimple-like bumps (one near my urethra and one on my vulva).

I decided to buy some vagisil and bought "feminine wash" and stopped using pantyliners. Two days of vagisil, still no relief. I called back the FPC and they squeezed me in for an exam today. All the STD tests they did the first time came back negative, except for herpes, they didn't get a result back yet. The doctor did a wetmount and said i had plenty of good bacteria, no yeast. I'm just worried it's herpes. I had sex once, and he wasn't even able to penetrate and he also had a condom on (end of April?). The outside of my vagina is VERY red, irritated and burning. I have no pain while urinating. Just constantly feels like im on fire. They gave me Terconazole to use for 3 days at night, which is an antifungal. Does anybody have any ideas as to what it can be. I have no health insurance, i went to the doctor as a last resort, hoping that would be it and i would feel better. I don't really have faith the cream will work since it's an antifungal, and so was the Diflucan. I just want to feel better! Also, could shaving with a razor that possibly had some rust on it cause this?

It could be some kind of allergic reaction to something like scented soap, laundry detergent, or anything else you used. The feminine wash may have made things worse. Try only using warm water and your hand to wash, wear white cotton underwear, and no douching or shaving. You also may want to try a cream like A & D ointment or Femmesil. I hope you figure out what is wrong, I know how frustrating this can be!

When you say abnormal discharge what do you mean? Excessive or coloured or smells different?

It changed alot, before the visit it was white/grayish w/ an odor. Once i took the diflucan (both times), it was white and clumpy with an odor. Once i started the garlic and folic acid (which other websites said is supposed to get rid of odor and garlic is a natural antibiotic), the odor disappeared and the discharge was normal, but still intense burning/redness. I've dropped the garlic/folic acid to 1x a day. I'm on my second application of the cream, i was told to put it externally, not to use the applicator...today it felt a little better. I'm thinking maybe the yeast infection was mainly on the outside, so maybe that's why the pill didn't work. :/

I also didn't use any soap in that area when washing today. I'm going to buy dye/perfume free detergent tomorrow and wash everything all over again. But i can't see how any soaps/detergents cause anything because i didn't change anything, aside from the feminine wash that i used once the other day. The doctor also said the feminine wash, although claiming to be "better" for you, was probably the worst thing i could do. I'm just still praying its not herpes, and i hope after the 3 day anti-fungal cream, it doesn't return.

            Find out

Did you find out if you have herpes? Was it just a yeast infection?
