    Ingrown hairs

OK so everytime i shave down there i get these little red spots, ive been told that they are ingrown hairs but i havent been told how to get rid of them. I was told to stop shaving for a while and i did and i didnt shave for about 2 months and when i did they still appeared. Its kinda embarrassing. Does anyone know how to get rid of them....???? Would they go away if i waxed???

Have you tried exfoliating before shaving? That seems to help me. Lather up a loofa and wash down there before shaving (with a very mild soap or baby wash).

When I get ingrown hairs, I take a pair of tweezers (which I use for this purpose ONLY) and pull out the offending hairs. I apply hydrogen peroxide after with a q-tip, and I make sure that my private area is as clean and dry as possible.

I'm not sure if waxing would solve the problem, and that is very painful, too painful for me to experiment with. I agree with LanaBear to wash and scrub--gently!--down there before you shave, and when you do, use something mild.

It's important that your genitals are always clean; it's best to wash there every single day. I do it twice, but maybe that's over-doing it?

            Hi
You can get creams to reduce this, get the bump outta here and ingrow go are good and both can be bought on ebay. I wax and I still get ingrown hairs but no way as bad of a rash as with shaving. Exfoliating most days helps a ton also!

When i had this problem the doctor said to get this ingrown hair cream...was more like an oil... was terrible..... made them worse!!! The best trick i have found is to shave down.... but you need to wait for the red marks to disapear then start shaving down from then.... i find personally shaving up causes the ingrown hairs because you're suddently changing the direction of the hair folicle but the hair hasnt changed so it clashes and grows the wrong way making it an ingrown hair.... Keep in mind this is a process. Took me a good few months to get it sorted
