Is there a way to get rid of Montgomery glands???
So for the past year or so I have had large pimples on the areola of my breasts...through Google I found out that they are called Montgomery glands. They surround the entire nipple area of my breast, and are very prominent and absolutely hideous. Now I feel really self-concious about the way my breasts look, and don't want anyone else to see them because they look so ugly. Is there any way to get rid of Montgomery glands, and does anyone else have this problem? I'm 16, and I've had these since I was about 15. -
These are normal and I may be mistaken, but pretty much every female has them, some woman's are obviously more noticeable than others (we all are different after all). They do serve a purpose and that is to keep the nipple lubricated and protected. However, it is possible for them to become inflamed and infected. If that is the case, you can try putting a warm compress on them or go see your Dr about them. -
I really wouldn't bother with them, I have them all over too... And quite frankly I've never had anyone even hint that they were a bother. In fact I don't think any guy has ever even noticed them - because as said above, they're SOOO common, in varying degrees. And I too have never thought that they take away from the look of my breasts.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
