Period blood colour dark brown. Should I be worried? Please help

Hi everyone, I'm just a bit worried about a problem I have and I need some advice. I've looked around on other sites but nothing offers a solid explanation.

My last period was normal as it usually is and I had it on the 7th of august. About a week later I had unprotected sex (was off my period by this time) and went to the doctors to take the morning after pill around 60 hours later. The pill was Levonelle.

Yesterday I came on my period, had the normal cramps and such but the problem is, my period blood is very dark in color, a dark brownish colour and I'm lighter than usual.

I've read that this could just be the effects of the pill and it's my body getting rid of old blood but I need to be sure that it's nothing to worry about. I'm terrified that I might be pregnant or something. Has anybody else had this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Nope - nothing to worry about. What you read is exactly right. It could be the MAP or it could be old blood.

Take a pregnancy test if you are worried but your body is dealing with the extra hormones of the pill you took, so it's a pretty solid explanation.
