Pre or Post Menstrual Emotional Episodes

I have been in highs and lows emotionally but a day or 2 prior to my period or after my period, I am a basketcase. I am emotionally volatile and take everything on me as if they are made to sabotage me as a person.

I wonder how you cope with it, no medication (Zoloft, etc...) involved. I wonder howmany of you out there are like me. I just started feeling this when I turned 31. My hormone level is OK and I have no signs of menopause.

How could I improve my plight? I have changed my diet - more greens, I also workout and I communicate with my husband openly (I try). But there really is this feeling of "unsettle" approaching Aunt Flo's visit, or after.

Hmm, sounds like bad PMS or even PMDD. Are you on any birth control pills? If not, they do make Yaz which is made to help with PMDD (I know you asked for no medications, but this is only if you're already on birth control pills).
Usually the week before my period I find myself snapping over the smallest thing, being down in the dumps, etc. What usually helps me through it is having a "me day" where I treat myself to something extra special, for example...take a nice long bath, paint my nails, get a yummy drink from starbucks. Nothing major or expensive, but just a reminder that you deserve it. If it helps, maybe during that time you just need some alone time.

I have my tubes cut permanently before my 2nd marriage. I am not taking any supplements, though once in a while I take calcium and vitamin D. The only regular medication I take is Dexalant 60mg, 1x/day for my acid reflux.

Most of the time, I pick up on the vibe of my environment, even sub-consciously. There were multiple occasions when I felt unsettled in my stomach and just start to feel like crying, only to learn how my husband had pent up some resentment over me - and then we discuss about it.
