First signs of a UTI- PLEASE HELP!
Okay, so I got treated for a UTI around 2 weeks ago with 3 days worth of Bactim (antibacterial antibiotic). Everything was great and all symptoms were gone...until this morning. My symptoms were cloudy, fowl smelling urine, and my first urine of the morning, it had that smell again anmd was a tinge of cloudy. I have been taking 2 craberry tablets everyday since I started my antibiotics, and I pee after sex every time. I do not use feminine products down there, and normally do not wear tight clothing. Can I do anything right now, to prevent the UTI or make it go away if its the first signs of one?? I'd rather not have to go through the whole process of making an appointment, waiting in the office for 30 minutes, taking a urine test, and then having to go to the pharmacy to fill a script. Also- I am unemployed and cannot afford a $100 office visit, when I just had one a couple weeks ago...please help! -
You may be able to call the doctor's office and just tell them what's going on and have them call in a refill without seeing you. Other than that, I know AZO sells UTI test strips that I think are 10-15 bucks (pack of 3) that you can buy to confirm it's a UTI and then tell them that it was positive, if it is or if it's negative, then you know it's something else and can take care of it another way. If you are already doing the cranberry tablets I can't really think of anything else you can do. Make sure you are wiping front to back and all that, but antibiotics will be needed since it's a bacterial thing and you don't want to let it go and have it spread to the kidneys. -
Do that.... and while waiting, consider this:
Have you ever tried drinking young coconut juice? There are "fresh" whole young coconuts sold in Asian stores, in the fresh veggies aisle. Just drink it plain.
I used to have frequent UTIs even prior to being sexually active, and I used to drink that (young coconut juice) everyday, as well as tea I made from boiled pineapple tops (the leaves/top part from fresh pineapples), and also the concoction I get from boiling corn hair. (I drink them alternately, which ever is available at that time)Comment
