    Hi everybody

I like many of you poor women suffer from chronic UTIs. I have done everything I can: cotton underwear, good hygiene, tons of water/cranberry, D-Mannose, I have been abstaining form sex to see if that works ... nothing is working. The problem is, I don't catch them before it gets pretty bad ...

The first time I had one was after a somewhat traumatic event and my health just took a nosedive. I ended up in the hospital because I didn't recognize this to be a UTI. I was just dizzy and nauseous and then got to throwing up and fainting. I was told in the hospital I had a UTI, was given a week of Cipro and sent home.

After that it was constant and it's been a year now. I get one every month, sometimes twice a month.

My question is, does anyone else have JUST nausea, some bloating and dizzyness and a symptom? The Macrobid I occasionally use works so it must be a UTI but these symptoms confuse me - I do not get ANY burning or urgency or pain, just the symptoms I mentioned prior.

Could this be something else....My blood tests have been normal for the past year, except that one time in the hospital where i had a high WWBC.

Anyone else experience UTIs like this? I never know the flu from a UTI and that spells trouble now....

Thanks for listening and I apologize for the long post!

I had that about 4 years ago. I got tired of being dismissed and sent home with some pills but not knowing what really the cause was. I ordered my doc to have my kidneys undergo ultrasound, and sure enough, I have about 1mm lithiasis (stone) on my left kidney. I almost told my attending physician, "I told you so".

Maybe find yourself a urologist and have them check you more thoroughly.

    Take care.

I get frequent and more intense UTIs before I get yet another kidney stones. I would think your doc. would talk with you about that.

Maybe you could take a supplement of cranberry daily and it would help keep the uti's away? :]

I thought I was the only one to have these types of symptoms with UTI's. I get them frequently... every other month if I'm lucky. I've had them since I was two and they've increased with age and sex. I've had every painful and humiliating test there is. I had my urethra stretched (wearing a large catheter/garden hose for 3 days) and nothing has worked.

Several times I've had the symptoms you've described and the only other indication of a UTI was maybe slightly cloudy urine or if I let that go long enough, stinky urine. If I've ignored that long enough eventually the pain will come. Sometimes it's straight to pain, like the last episode. It was just the pain and frequency and clear urine. Since I've dealt with these issues for so long, I have an equally painful upset stomach with major nausea, bloating, burning, bubbling from the antibiotics.

I stopped all of the preventatives...cranberry juice, antibiotics after sex, cotton underwear (I don't wear any now) and drink all the freaking coke I want and it's still the same. I still try to pee after sex and wipe clean before sex too... no improvements there either but I just feel cleaner. I don't have alot of sex (twice a month on average). I am however, going to try the sitting on the toilet backwards thing. That's a new one that even I havn't heard of. I'm also going to try some chiropractics and maybe acupuncture to see if that helps. Anyone have any thoughts on the "Natural" or "Eastern" remedies?

I'm basically going to do things the way I want to do them and suck it up until hopefully one day soon they come out with a vaccine. /
