Anyone else have Appetite loss and/or nausea during PMS?
Hey I was just wondering if anyone else has chronic nausea and appetite loss during there PMS days? For the past four days Ive been chronically nauseas mainly do to bad bloating and gas (and trouble pottying) When I eat i get extremely nauseas and I have to lay down because I feel like I'll get sick. Also certain smells make me gag I walked in the kitchen today aftter someone fixed popcorn and the smell made me so sick i almost got sick, usually it doesn't do that. Im alittle worried cause I've had..crackers two turkey sandwhiches and some toaste in four-five days and thats it. I need to eat more I lose weight very quickly and I lost weight over this and Im already underweight as it is. I hear most women overeat during there PMS days so is not eating at all normal for some people?

Hey Blue!
I’m sorry to hear you feel so sick, that’s a bummer! I used to have the exact same problem about 5-6 years ago. During every month I would be so sick, so nauseas that I would throw-up. Like you, I could barely eat anything because it just made me sick. I would even try to take Midol for my cramps and sometimes I couldn’t because I would gag it up. Also like you, I was very skinny and it was only until I gained a good 20 lbs. or so that I began to feel healthier during my period. I think what happens is during (and shortly before) a woman’s period she has such high doses of hormones that are being released and if the body is underweight and skinny, it just can’t handle it.
Now, at this point in my life, having gained almost 50 lbs. since those original “skinny days”, I feel much better during my period. I know with me, my period was like a battle every month and my body needed more fat, thus, more strength to deal with the hormones.
To answer your question, since you’re underweight, it sounds very normal to me that you aren’t able to eat. My advice would be to put on some weight, if you can. I know that’s not what women want to hear! But I really think you’ll feel better.
Anyway, I’m babbling on! I hope you feel better soon, Blue! *Hugs*Blanche: "No one in my family ever saw a psychiatrist. Except of course when they were institutionalized." -
Thanks tons for the reply, that makes alot of sense. I was up to about 119 and even being there my PMS wasn't so bad. I have hormonal imbalance anyway so around PMS my hormones are outrageous. Its such a catch 22 cause you want to eat to gain weight but you can't cause you feel sick! I'm feeling better today though Ive been able to eat some thanksgiving dinner which is good. I havnt started yet so I dont know why Im feeling better but I wont complain.Comment

Don't be scared, nausea and all that happens to me. I used to be extremely irregular, and since I went on a pill for that, it has helped a lot. I know BC isn't for everyone, but it helped me. Anyway, don't worry, just get to know your body. I never had any weight problems but sometimes I eat constantly when I'm on my period, or not at all. I cramp like crazy, and still get sick to my stomach. If you like, take some Midol. It's the only pain med I EVER take, and only that time of month. Hope this helps
