    Unusual Period, Please Help!!

Okay, about a month ago my mom found out that my boyfriend and I had been having sex. So she took me to planned parent hood to get me checked out and make sure I didn't have anything (which I didn't) and to put me on birth control (I chose Dupo). Before that I was having normal periods, same time usually and for a couple of days to a week. After I got the shot though my hormones when crazy and I ended up missing a week of school becuz of it. Not only that but I had also started my period a week late, and it was heavy for about a week and I thought it was done, but I started spotting for another 2 weeks. Towards the end of my period when I thought it was done my boyfriend and I had sex, only to find out that later that night I was still on my period. After it was finally over, after about a week I just started spotting a brown discharge. I have never had this happen to me, and I'm afraid to go to my mom about it. The brown discharge has like a darker string-like things in it. Idk what to do.
Before I posted this I had been reading threads similar to my case but none of them were quite the same. I had also done some research and think I either just had a miscarriage or I'm pregnant. And from previous threads it would not show up pregnant on a pregnancy test for some reason. Can anybody please help me?? Does anybody have any ideas what is wrong with me? Or agree on the ideas that I had? PLEASE help me!!

I think birth control is trial and error, until you get one that suits you personally, we are all different.

I have read here Depo shots have had horrible effects on some people...

If you feel this is causing you pain, it's more than likely it's too strong for you and you should go back to your Doctor and discuss what has occured.

You may need to be put on a birth control pill of lower dosage...

If you were on your period when you had sex, it is almost an impossibility that you are pregnant... The brown discharge, then spotting, your just irregular as you took the Depo shot and your body is trying to adjust again into some form of routine....

Don't be frightened to tell your Mum about the pain, she had her periods as a teenager for the first time as well you know, she was only ensuring you are safe, won't get pregnant and have no STI's or STD's. being a Mum that's all...

She would recognise that Depo may not be correct for you or ask you wait until the next period and see how that pans out, in-case it's just a body adjustment...
