    Problems of actually going to a Gynocologist

    Hello! I am new to these forums, and I'm seeking knowledge. I apologize if I posted in the wrong sub-forum.

    I planned on going to Planned Parenthood to get a check-up, and hopefully some contraception. I recently moved from KY to WI. And I'm having difficulty getting residency. And I fear that this issue is going to cause me more severe issues, health wise and general needs.

    Payment Information

    Medicaid accepted.

    Wisconsin Medicaid Family Planning Waiver accepted.

    If you are uninsured, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale. Please bring the following documents:

    * birth certificate
    * pay stub
    * photo ID
    The one in the bold is what I'm having issues with. I don't have a job. I know a government aid may help me. But it may only be a state thing, and once again, I am not a resident. So I'm stuck in a vicious cycle. Plus, I have no way back home due to money issues.

    I'm so confused. What should I do?

    If you don't have a job, tell them. Obviously, they would know that if you don't have a job, you don't have a pay stub.

        We are so different in Australia, somethings are free, others you need Insurance...But in reading what you wrote above? I would be confused as well, your not a resident, worried it's therefore only a State thing, regarding being un-employed...

        So, no, you don't have to use your brain more

          My friend is from Canada and living in Portland went to the planned parenthood for a UTI paid maybe 20 bucks they really didn't seem to care just wanted to help her. I went to Canada with her last year and I ended up having one of my lovely cyst ruptures and I went to the clinic there as a USA citizen and only paid like 30 bucks for them to get me some antibiotics for my cyst rupture. So just state to state is not a huge ordeal, cause they even took her International but she did have to pay a little, planned parenthood is there to help in most all situations I've never known them to deny a woman.

          By the way they give out contraception like its candy hah.. Ive gone in and just grabbed it for free or maybe 5 bucks they will give it to homeless anyone even without a pelvic exam they will hand it out.

            I live in WI, and can tell you that the planned parenthood office won't really care if you don't have all this information. They want to help you. I had friends that lived in other states, but went to school in WI - no proof of residency, but they were helped out.

            Call the office and explain your situation (you're new to the state, having trouble getting residency, but need to get a check-up). See what they tell you. They should take you if you have some sort of ID, and will ask you for a donation if you can afford one.
