No it's not normal. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong though, See a gyno. It's all you can do.

It may not be normal but normal for your age group depending on some factors.
      1. At what age did you start menstruation. If it is still within one year ago, it may be that irregular and will ultimately stabilize with time.
      2. Have your previous cycles been irregular within the past 2-4 months? If they have been very regular, this might be related to an inter-current abnormality which may warrant you see your doctor.
3.If there is bleeding with associated lower unusual abdominal pain or fever or other strange symptom, it may be wise to see your doctor.

Mid cycle bleeding is called metrorrhagia. Heavy menstrual bleeding is called menorrhagia. Since u have experienced both, it is called menometrorrhagia. If you have never seen a doc before for any menstrual problem, this may be a good opportunity to also address any other concerns you have. If it is mild bleeding just persisting after 7 days, an option to consider will be to wait and see.

Also remember to calculate your menses carefully using a chart or calender to know exactly the length of ur cycle. Menses do not follow the calender month eg every 15th of the month or during the second week etc.. they follow the length of the cycle.
