Vaginal sex has always been uncomfortable or painful for me. The last partner sex was painful with, I thought it was due to a yeast infection at the time. However, before the infection, we tried to have sex and something was blocking his penis from entering -- he pushed much harder and I heard and felt a pop (I was not a virgin, so it wasn't the hymen). It then hurt if he inserted too far back, to the point where I wanted to do something else. Now with my current partner, who is a woman, I thought sex started being painful due to another yeast infection. I'm going to see a gynecologist about it, but I wanted to ask now. When she inserted her finger, she said she kept going and it was pleasurable for me until she felt a hard block/ball on the right side of my vaginal wall. I had to ask her to pull out. I've had it for months, but I never thought it was unusual until I realized my girlfriend doesn't have a "block."

When I feel for myself, it feels different than the rest of my body. I can't "feel" it, like it has no nerves, only what's around it, so it's not the G-spot. If it's the cervix, will vaginal sex always be painful for me, and why is it on the right side? If it's not, what it is and should I be worried? It feels like it's only 3 inches in and then anything wanting to go further is "blocked." I can get my finger passed it, but it's not fun or pleasurable.

Either way, I'm going to see a doctor but if anyone knows what it could be I would please like to know.

I don't want sex to be painful for me anymore. Sometimes I just want to get rough and into it and not have to worry about pain.

It could be a cyst.

Check out Bartholin's gland cyst. I had one, it wasn't that far in, maybe about 2 inches, but it was PAINFUL. There are plenty of glands up and around the vagina, it could be one of many.

Go to the Dr., let them have a look and hopefully all is well. If it is a cyst, they can drain it and you'll be good as new in a couple of weeks.

I'm curious about the Bartholin's gland cyst. It's interesting to know that it can happen on the vaginal wall and not just adjacent to a labial fold. Was sexual activity the only thing that made you notice and did you have it for a long time? Hopefully those questions aren't too personal. I'm curious to know of other examples, as I'm hoping it's not something like cancer.

I'm not sure how long I had it, but once I noticed it, it seemed to grow fast. It went from the size of a pea, to about the size of a golf ball in 4 days or so. From what I've read, some people have them for a long time, have always felt a bump, but then something happens to make it irritated and that is when they notice it more because of the pain.

I noticed mine when wiping after I went pee one evening. It just kind of felt bruised, my inner lips, so I stuck my fingers up there to feel around and felt the bump, when I pushed on it I about died because it hurt so bad. I stuck it out a few days, but the pain just seemed worse and forget about anything sexual, no way. To make sure I wasn't going insane, I had my hubby take a look up there, lol, he said it was definitely red and swollen. I got into the Dr the next afternoon. He inserted a drain, that sucked really bad and I had to leave it in for about 2-3 weeks while the cyst drained, but I haven't had a problem since.

A few more questions.

1. What was the drain like?
2. So, you physically have to keep it in your vagina?
3. Was any incision involved?

I'll let you all know how it goes. I'm terrified a gynecologist is going to say it's normal and sex will be painful for me forever, but I doubt that it will turn out to be normal. I've had a pap smear before when it was most likely there, but it was a physician who was just checking for a yeast infection, so perhaps he didn't think the bump was unusual.

Okay, well, I'm always kind of reluctant to tell this because I don't want anybody to get scared and not go to the Dr., but seriously, get it checked out. Better safe than sorry.

So, I went to the Dr and he said it was bad enough that it had to be drained. He did the procedure in his office. He put a couple of shots of a local anesthetic around the cyst, so that I wouldn't feel anything. He made a small incision and drained what he could out of it. He then placed a catheter in there to keep it open and allow for it to continue to drain. He kept it in there for about 2 weeks this helps to minimize the recurrence of them. So, yes, I had a catheter/drain hanging out of my vagina for 2 weeks. I had to wear a pad obviously so that it would drain onto something. I had to sit on one of those baby Boppy pillows because it was irritating and painful to sit with that drain in.

Was it painful yes, the whole office probably heard me drop a few F bombs, I'm sure.
