    Help!

Hi, i am a virgin and yesterday started using tampons for the first time. after a bit of trouble i got it in and it felt fine once in there. (just letting you know it was a slim regular) Anyway i went to take it out about 6 hours later as my period was light but it just wouldnt come out! I know i have it in the right hole because no blood came onto my underwear. I have tried everything-different positions, using a mirror, sitting in the bath, using lubricants and tweezers but nothing works! i finally got it so the end of the tampon was just sticking out if i pulled the string really hard but i cant pull it out any further as it hurts really really bad. The hole is just too small. Ive seen pictures in books and my vaginal opening just doesnt look like that. i cant really explain it, just that i think it has more than one hole. Is this a problem with my hymen?
anyway i would see a dr but thought maybe i should get some advice first.
oh I forgot to say it has now been 16 hours since i put the tampon in.
i really would appreciate your help here.
    Thanks!

Hello there and welcome to the forum.... the tampon should have a string that string is meant to be outside so you can pull out the tampon easily, can you see that string? If you cant and you simply cannot get it out seek medical help

there is a risk of having a tampon in that long

You could end up with a little thing called toxic shock and it can dangerous, even deadly. But don't panic, its not all that common.
I've had this problem and I'm no virgin. If your period is light, the tampon is probably just really dry and so wont come out easily. The lube isn't getting up inside your vagina, so it doesn't help.
I would think that sitting in the bath would have allowed it to absord some water and would make it easier to get out.
It probable that all your efforts may have resulted in a little tissue swelling, which will make the dry tampon even harder to remove. If you can, get a little moisture to it, then try to remove it while in a squatting posistion. Squatting lines everything up better and should make it easier. If that doesn't work, get some help.

Hope you have it out by now! Next time try pads it might be a lot easier for you. Tampons are not for everyone.. I was always afraid of this happening. Hope you get it out soon.
