Are you currently on birth control?

You can skip your inactive pills and immediately start a new pack, but you may also have some spotting or breakthrough bleeding.

It's fine if you are not doing it all the time. There are even three month pills (Seasonale/Seasonique) which allow you one period every three months and depo (the shot). I don't recommend them because personally, after being on them, I feel it is good thing to have a period once a month. But, I've also used the pill to my benefit in the past and worked it around my vacations, as have many of my friends.

Schedule an appt with your Dr and just tell him/her. Some Dr's are pretty open and will listen.

Are you sexually active? Tell them you want to get on the BC pill but are also concerned about having a period while on vacation.

            my vacation is in march
if i go onto a pill in feb will it guarentee that i will not have it on vacation?

Im 18 and im in a relationship, but we havent had sex yett, so ive been thinking for a while about going on it.

Should i just go on it for like 2 months or somethingg?

I also expirience really bad cramps, headaches and pms before and while im on my period, so i dont want it to ruin my vacation.

            Thanks

It depends on when you start the pill.

If you start it on the first Sunday (I've always preferred the Sunday start) after your Feb period, you can take the first two pack continuously without taking the inactive pills, that would put your next period in April. As I stated, you should expect some spotting, it may or may not occur, but be prepared for it. However spotting is better than a full period.

Your PMS symptoms may benefit from the pill as well. Many women get put on birth control for that reason alone.

It should, yes. You start the first Sunday after you start your period. If you start your period on Friday, start the pill on Sunday, etc.

Obviously, make sure you also ask your Dr as well.
