Abnormal Period.
I got my period around when i was 14 (Currently 19) and it was always heavy from the beginning so I'm quite use to it. I have had 2 cysts on my left ovary, one 8cm(Removed by surgery early 2010) the other the doctors don't know because it burst before anyone even knew it existed (this was the end of January 2011) I just got what i think is my period 2 days ago, But its been incredibly light, I've never had a period like this and it's also a dark brown colour, Usually that's how my periods start(but a lighter colour) and only the first few hours and then it goes into a normal flow, I haven't had any normal flow and I'm quite concerned as it's going into the 3rd day now.. Could it be because of the cyst bursting last month? or is this normal?

The same thing has just happened to me only I've never had a cyst. I've been on the ortho evra patch for years and I'm always on time like to the day. My script ran out and i had to go to the doctor where i go to school they told me to wait to go back on it until i got my period. this is my "normal" week if i was on bc this month but i've barely gotten it...just really light spotting almost nothing. But it was weird bc i have cramps and bloating like normal. (i am sexually active but haven't had sex since my last period and we always use a condom too) i was concerned and just called and the nurse said that my hormones might be out of wack from the change in hormones and need some extra time to adjust. She also said if it wasn't normal for me then it probably was just breakthrough bleeding. To put your mind at ease your best bet is to just call a nurse and explain your concerns. I feel much better about it now that I didComment
