Okay.. I have the Implanon implant in my arm. Its due out in June. As I've had it in about 2 and a half years now.

My periods stopped over a year ago as it can do with using Implanon.
I know that it creates a mucas lining in the womb that stops sperm from entering.

But I'm wondering now, because my periods has stopped, does that me I have stopped producing eggs?
And should I be worried about the last few months now of being able to use it, that there may be any chance of me getting pregant?

I'm not sure.. I dont know anything about Implanon! I wish I could help you!! The only part of your question. i can answer.. it the egg producing thing. When you get your period.. its not because you produced an egg. (we don't produce eggs like men produce sperm).. But i do know if your not bleeding .. you haven't released an egg. Thats what the period comes from.. the releasing of an egg and the shedding of the uterus because the egg was not fertilized! Sorry couldnt be more help... call your gyn.

Okay well so,

No period = No released eggs = No chance of getting pregnant??

I just wondered that because my periods have stopped I still have no chance of getting pregnant.

hi im also on the implant but im getting the opposite im bleeding every 2 wks but wot i can tell you is if ure not bleeding you wont b ovulating but i wuldnt worry 2 much as when you get it out your periodswill take about a year 2 get bak 2 normal but if u get the implant out 2 ttc it can take up to 2 years 2 concieve. i wouldnt worry 2 much.

The way birth control works is by preventing ovulation. Normally when a woman is not on birth control her egg will be released from the capsule that it develops from. From there it travels to the fallopian tube where it is fertilized by sperm and later it attaches to the uterine wall and implants for the duration of the pregnancy. When on the birth control though the egg is not released from the capsule, no ovulation occurs. The mucus increase is to stop the sperm from having an easy time getting into the uterus. Stopping birth control again allows the egg to be regularly released and ovulation will occur. Ovulation is only prevented while taking the birth control so it is entirely possible to become pregnant after a woman decides to stop taking birth control. However it is also possible to become pregnant while on the pill, that means the egg has to be released from its capsule despite chemicals telling it not to, then it has to meet up with the sperm that had a heck of a time getting passed the increased mucus. Then it has to implant on the uterine lining which is also altered to make it less favorable should implantation to occur. Basically if a woman gets pregnant while on birth control while she has been taking it exactly as directed that is literally a one in a million chance due to all the circumstances preventing it from happening.
